In an interview with CBS' 60 Minutes, Ruth Madoff says she and her husband, convicted Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff, attempted suicide together on Christmas Eve after the scheme was made public. "We decided to kill ourselves because it was so horrendous what was happening," Madoff tells CBS' Morley Safer.
On OutFront, ABC News chief investigative correspondent Brian Ross–who's written a book about the Madoffs–says Bernie Madoff was not "a likely candidate for suicide," having shown little or no remorse, but his wife clearly suffered–including the suicide of one of her sons.
