The Full Mountie: Canadian Prime Minister bares all in new painting

CNN's Erin Burnett showcases a new painting of a nude Stephen Harper.

The nude painting of Prime Minister Stephen Harper by Kingston artist Maggie Sutherland sold for its asking price on the weekend.

The painting, Emperor Haute Couture, depicted a naked Harper reclining on a chaise lounge. Behind him is a row of men, and one woman, in suits.

Sutherland's painting, a recreation of Manet's 1863 painting Olympia. sold for $5,000 (CAD).

The painting was the centre of a brief media storm late last week with newspapers, television stations and magazines asking about it.

Sutherland said she and her art dealer fielded inquiries from as far away as South Africa and the painting was even the subject of a report by CNN's Erin Burnett.

I live in the city where the painting was done. I can understand political satire and this gov't is pretty easy to make fun of (that's another story), but the choice of someone to hang it in a public library was questionable. The room it was hung in is used by young children. So whats next, playboy & hustler in a public Library. Its a good thing that today it was announced that the "artist/activist" sold her painting for $5k. Why anyone would want it is beyond me..... If he had actually sat for the painting It would have made the headlines. It was more of a "photoshop" thing using paint/canvas/brush...very low-tech.

Harper is a freak and will do whatever he can to turn Canada into a right-winged ut state. With that said this is not him: he has a big fat belly that is noticeably absent here.

Even Solomon would have to wrestle for an appropriate resolution to this tragedy. Their was a disagreement; Martin lost – end of story.

Ah yes, it would seem some so called artist (left-wing nut) was upset she didn't get her government hand out so this is what she painted. The government was right to suggest that artists would still paint & art would still be created without government funding.

From Globe and Mail: “This is one case where I think we really do need a Conservative cover-up,” said Liberal MP Scott Brison. “I guess you could say in this painting it’s quite obvious that the Prime Minister has very little to hide.”

ERIN , TONIGHT YOU VERY MUCH SEEMED TO BE TAKING ZIMMERMAN'S SIDE. YOUR DEMEANOR AND BODY LANGUAGE IS QUITE OBVIOUS. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO REPORT THE NEWS TO THE VIEWERS , FREE OF PERSONAL INPUTS. IN OTHER WORDS , REPORT , RATHER THAN PROMOTE THE NEWS. THERE ARE OTHER WITNESSES TO THE STORY WITH A DIFFERENT VIEW. THE FEMALE THAT SAID , " I DO HONESTLY FEEL HE INTENTED FOR THE KID TO DIE. " DO YOUR JOB , AND STOP BEING SELECTIVE WITH WITH THE REPORTNG OF THE NEWS , WHERE IT SEEMS THAT YOU ARE TAKING SIDES. A YOUNG LIVE WAS TAKING AWAY FOR NO REASON AT ALL , AND THIS IS NOT RIGHT. HE WAS A HUMAN BEING !

You don't sound "fair and balanced" either – sounds like you think the little thug is innocent. Well' let me tell you, Treyvon is the one that said "you're going to die tonight". Guess he was wrong, huh? The lay peopel should stay out of this case and quit trying it. That's what the courts are for but, by the language and punctuation in your post, guess you don't know much.
