Iran announced today that it has detected a "massive" cyber attack on its nuclear facilities and blamed America, Israel, and other Western powers for collaborating on the computer virus.
Officials in Tehran quickly added that they had managed to repel the attack, which came on the heels of a week of failed talks in Moscow aimed at negotiating an end to Iran's nuclear program. There is no cyber attack on Iranian facilities. This is Ahmad's misinformation. Misinformation not against US but against the Ayatollah. The Ayatollah wished that he had never supported Ahmad. Ahmad has been very effective at chipping away the Ayatollah's influence. This virus is self-inflicted let the Ayatollah's loyalists believe that despite that he cannot have another term as Iranian president, he will be there and only he can handle any situation adverse to the nuclear facilities.
OTOH, he could be like the foreclosed home owner – he is wrecking his home before he passes it to the bank.
I love this stuff, since I've been working for an IT Security consulting firm over the summer. I'm part of the finance division, so I can't even set the IP address on the modem, but I'm surrounded by these hacker guys who get paid to do stuff that they'd probably get arrested for if they tried it on their own. Instead, companies pay us to do it to them. What a country!
