Claiming innocence, brothers released after 25 years behind bars for murder

Two brothers in Detroit who spent almost 25 years in jail for a murder they say they didn't commit walked free this week, as a judge overturned their convictions and granted a bond request.

Thomas and Raymond Highers were in their early 20's when they were arrested and charged with murdering a drug dealer in 1987. They always maintained their innocence, yet they were convicted and sent to prison.

But in 2009, a Facebook posting by a former resident of the neighborhood where they lived at the time led to a new chain of evidence, including one witness who says that the armed men he saw entering the drug dealer's house that night were black, not white.

Prosecutors have promised to retry the case, but for now, Thomas and Raymond are just thankful for their freedom, and they come OutFront tonight exclusively with their lawyer to share their story.
