A war over words erupted last night, as Mitt Romney went after President Obama for waiting a week to say the killing of four Americans in Libya was a terrorist attack.
But the President was waiting for it, repeatedly and pointedly claiming that he called it just that in his address from the Rose Garden the morning after the attack, a response that seemed to catch Romney off guard.
So who's right? According to the transcript, which Obama told Romney to check, the President says "No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for."
So while the President did make a passing reference to general acts of terror, he did not specifically call the Libya attack a terrorist act, which is a formal and legal term. Nor does he ever refer to the suspected killers as terrorists anywhere in his speech.
The question remains – what did the president really mean when he said it was an act of terror on September 12th? Democratic Senator Jack Reed is on the Armed Services Committee and he is OutFront tonight.

CNN has a decision to make. 65 million people now know Candy Crowly not only backs the President and cannot be be objective but will go so far as to lie on national TV to do so. In order for her to get away with what she has done is to beleive viewers have not watched TV news, The View, Letterman, The UN speech and so on. When it comes down to it if she thinks the likes of Gregory, Stephanopolis, and Scheiffer will back her she is flat crazy. If CNN would look back at my post especially the ones not posted you will see that I have been right over 95% of the time close to Rush but never as good as the master. It would behove CNN to fire Candy in order to maintain what little viewers they have left and maybe increase viewership. Also, as I have said I beleive Erin you would be a good replacement.The one thing that proves what I am saying is how did the President know Candy had a transcript of his speech on Sept 12th.
