A meteor broke apart over central Russia today, just hours before an asteroid half the size of a football field shot past the planet today.
There are incredible pictures of it streaking across the sky above the Ural region, causing chaos, panic, and a blast powerful enough to shatter windows and doors and damage numerous buildings.
More than a thousand people were reported injured, mainly by flying glass and debris.
