"If she stayed in the hospital, she would be with us today," Dr. Drew weighs in on McCready's violent end

Authorities believe country singer Mindy McCready first shot herself late yesterday on the front porch of her Arkansas home.

The violent end came as no surprise to friends and fans who have followed McCready's turbulent life. Early success was followed by a rapid decline - her 37 years littered with suicide attempts, custody battles, substance abuse - even an appearance on a celebrity rehab TV show.

McCready's boyfriend was killed just a few weeks ago, on the same porch where her body was found, also an apparent suicide. Yesterday, she shot his dog before killing herself.

With all the warning signs, comes the question - could anyone have saved her?

McCready's troubles were laid bare on national TV on Dr. Drew Pinsky's "Celebrity Rehab" reality show in 2010. The show followed troubled celebrities as they underwent treatment for addiction.

Dr. Drew is OutFront tonight with insight into the troubles of this talented singer.
