Squirrel tests positive for plague

An evacuation has been ordered for an area north of Los Angeles after a squirrel tested positive for the plague.

While no human being has been infected, authorities are advising people to steer clear for at least a week while further testing is conducted on other squirrels in the area.

OutFront: Dr. Amesh Adalja, senior associate at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and board-certified physician for infectious disease.
