A history of passenger jets that have been shot down

Malaysia Airlines flight 17, a Boeing 777 with nearly 300 people on board, was shot down Thursday by a surface-to-air missile system near Ukraine's border with Russia.

But this is not the first time a passenger plane was shot down from the sky.

Why does America want to be involved ? No Americans on board ! Leave it to the Europeans to influence Putin, as Putin will not allow America involvement because of the current Ukraine situation and the distinct possibility of US gathering intelligence.. all your experts are wise after the event..should not have done this or that !
Diplomacy with Russia/Ukraine is required to get all emergency personnel into the field.
Your experts recteric on CNN helps none of the tragic families
