AirAsia flight disappearance raises questions about A320

The plane AirAsia used for Flight 8501 is an Airbus 320. The plane is so commonly used that Airbus claims one plane from the A320 family is either taking off or landing every 2.5 seconds.

Smoke spotted in AirAsia flight's search zone

There is no sign of AirAsia Flight 8501. Media in Indonesia report smoke was spotted on an island in the search zone.

AirAsia flight's final moments and the search for answers

Just under 40 minutes after takeoff, the pilot of AirAsia Flight 8501 makes his last known communication to air traffic control. Soon after, the plane disappears from radar screens.
