CNN's John King has a way of getting the story other reporters miss–and nobody's better about breaking it down visually at his world-famous "Magic Wall." Usually, JK's crunching exit polls or demographic data on election night. You've probably never seen him explain the life of Erin Burnett.
Well, now you can. John's welcome to Erin includes a few surprises (field hockey, anyone?), so have a look and enjoy.
CNN's Anderson Cooper has a new neighbor starting Monday night, and Anderson was kind enough to take time out to send over a welcome message for Erin. We're really hoping this friendly relationship between Erin Burnett OutFront and AC 360 endures.
And Anderson: we like cookies, brownies, you know, just the occasional gift basket in the newsroom.
Months of work–and thousands of miles of travel around the World–have taken Erin Burnett and her OutFront team to the final hours before CNN's newest nightly show finally launches on Monday night. Because we really enjoy taking you inside OutFront (hence the nickname Inside Out), we want to share a fast sixty-second look at all the work that's led to launch day.
Let us know what you think. Erin Burnett OutFront debuts on CNN Monday, October 3rd at 7 p.m. ET.
The man who–until now–had been CNN's "newest nightly name," Piers Morgan, crashed a rehearsal for Erin Burnett's OutFront, complimenting Erin on her new set and show–but also showing he hasn't quite forgotten the comments Erin made about him on Celebrity Apprentice. "You stuck the knife straight in my back," he said.
Piers (who was not "fired" by Donald Trump as a result of Erin's comments, but went on to win) had a few choice (but joking) words of his own, telling Erin he'd come into her studio and interrupted rehearsals to wish her "total, abject failure."
More seriously, Piers urged Erin to be true to herself and share her views on the news every night. "I just want to tune in at seven o'clock and get your opinion on what's going on. I'm actually more interested in your opinion than the people you bring on."
