In an essay, CNN's Erin Burnett looks at the diverse field of candidates seeking the Republican presidential nomination, and concludes the country's come a long way from the days of JFK.
Thanks for your coverage of "Church and State". I'm glad you mentioned part of the official name of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Repeated use of the nickname "Mormon or Mormonism" has led misgivings about the true nature of the Church. The members of the early church of Christ were called "Saints" and nicknamed "Christians", you will find lots of references to the "Saints" in your bible but just few to "Christian".
If Christianity is defined as a belief in Christ, then I challenge anyone to find a church who believes in him more. I get tired of hearing the southern Christians described as "conservative". There are few Christians more conservative than the Latter Day Saints, who share more of their values and beliefs than they will open their eyes to and admit.
I would like to request more information about the Mormon Faith, like what is the book of the Mormon, his founder just more information about them. Because when you ask one mormon person, he response in one way and then to another is completely difference. I do not know much of the new believe, because they have to change thing every so often.
Are they Evangelicals??????
First off, it's not the Church of Latter-day Saints, but rather, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Second, whatever that polygamist family on tv 3 years back was, it was in no way associated with the Mormon church. They do not practice polygamy.
Erin, I'm watching your show right now. You made reference to a blog u were doing on Mormons and Mitt/john H. So as a Mormon, naturally my interest was peaked! I just watched the video here and theta are two very important things you need to be clear on; 1. The name of the church is The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints...not the church of latter day saints! This is important because people think Mormons aren't Christians which they most certainly are. 2. The Big Love reference- polygamists ARE NOT MORMONS today. Originally, Mormons practiced polygamy for a short time, but that was OVER A CENTURY AGO. In an effort to better understand who Mormons are, I'm afraid your clip further promoted misguidedness, misunderstanding and someone who didn't really do their homework...ugh! Other than this I really enjoy your show! 😉 -John
