Perry suspends presidential campaign, endorses Gingrich

Saying he saw "no viable path forward" to the Republican presidential nomination, Rick Perry suspended his run for the White House today, just hours ahead of CNN's pre-South Carolina debate. Perry endorsed former rival Newt Gingrich. "I believe Newt is a conservative visionary who can transform our country," Perry said in a news conference in Charleston, SC.
