Previously on OutFront: Friess: "I like writing the check and turning it over."

Previously on OutFront, on the heels of his latest victory in Missouri, Colorado and Minnesota, we followed the money behind Presidential Candidate, Rick Santorum. In Syria, as the Russian prime minister receives a warm welcome from supporters of the Bashar al-Assad regime,  Erin digs into the connection between Russia and Syria. In Erin's Essay,  Erin takes a look at the role of the social worker involved in the Josh Powell murder-suicide case.

FOLLOW THE MONEY: Santorum’s Bankroller

The former Pennsylvania senator is lagging way behind his rivals when it comes to money. The latest filings show Santorum’s major Super Pac was out raised by Mitt Romney’s 40 to one! And it probably won't stop there. We followed the money, dug through the donor lists and learned: Romney's got the backing of 17 billionaires. And Gingrich, for his part, has the backing of two.

It's looking like a David and Goliath story. Does Santorum even stand a chance? With Santorum’s latest victory winning the last three Republican presidential contests, he has raised over $1 million. However, prior to his fundraising success there’s has always been one man who has been the number one backer for Santorum.

Erin spoke to Foster Friess and he told me he's known Santorum for 16 years. Erin asked him why he's convinced the former senator can win now.

TURMOIL IN SYRIA: 6,000+ Syrians killed Since March

On to the brutal crackdown in Syria, where four straight days of bombing have killed at least 60 killed in the city of Homs alone, adding to the death toll of more than 6-thousand since the uprising began in March.

While Washington and the world are condemning the assault, Russia is not and today announced the Syrian vice president may be open to talks with the opposition. The Russians believe the crisis should be solved by Syria.

"It is not really the international community's business to try to determine the outcome of national dialogue in advance,” said Sergei Lavrov, Russian Prime Minister.

Erin spoke to Fran Townsend, National Security Contributor and Daniel Freedman, Foreign policy analyst about the Russian-Syrian connection. Why does Syria matter so much to Moscow?

In the murder-suicide case of Josh Powell and his two sons, 911 tapes of the social worker’s call to the police were release this week. The audio gave investigators the final moments leading up to Powell igniting an explosion that killed himself and his two sons. As police continues their investigation into the tragedy, Erin takes a look at the role of a social worker.
