Two women who heard the gunshot and witnessed the aftermath of the shooting that killed Trayvon Martin say the shooter, George Zimmerman did not appear to be trying to help Martin in any way, and had to be urged to call 911. The women, who talked to CNN's Erin Burnett, said they heard cries during an apparent struggle, but the cries were cut short by the gunshot.
In an interview on CNN's Erin Burnett OutFront, Fran Townsend described comments made by President Obama on an open microphone as "very, very troubling."
Obama asked his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev for some "space" on the U.S.-led NATO missile defense system in Europe. "This is my last election," Obama said. "After my election I have more flexibility."
Townsend said the president's statement was "offensive" for raising the suggestion that the Mr. Obama's policies on the missile shield may be different in private than the ones he's expressed in public.
