Townsend: President Obama's open mic comments 'very, very troubling'

In an interview on CNN's Erin Burnett OutFront, Fran Townsend described comments made by President Obama on an open microphone as "very, very troubling."

Obama asked his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev for some "space" on the U.S.-led NATO missile defense system in Europe. "This is my last election," Obama said. "After my election I have more flexibility."

Townsend said the president's statement was "offensive" for raising the suggestion that the Mr. Obama's policies on the missile shield may be different in private than the ones he's expressed in public.

when president obama said this is my last electionafter my election?
was he saying i am going to be allowed to serve a second term as president of the united states?
i felt a strong vibe that he already knows he is going to be re-elected?

'Congress has made it exquisitely clear it will block all attempts to weaken U. S. missile defense...? Ask the chairman of strategic forces sub committee about US missile defense and nuclear weapons policy. New START Arms Treaty ? What exactly did Obama mean ? I'm waiting for McCain to hear about this and Ron Paul. Oh no and politics vs nuclear weapons and we're dealing like some used car lot country. Are you a safe American under Obama as President ? Doubt it and that's why I supported Hillary Clinton for President and not Obama !

everything has become political. you cant even disagree with your candidate because the next thing pops up so fast your back to sticking up for what hes doing. its easier just to agree with whatever he does instead of trying to argue all the points and that is a big problem.. i think

its rediculous. Now everyone is going to try and figure out why he said that? Maybe he has a plan and said it on purpose, maybe he said it because he is trying to open up to the Russian president and gain trust.. who knows.. that is my point who knows.. for them to pounce on this is such a waste of time..
