I hate to quote a bible phrase but " Thou shalt not kill " and taking this into account the problem is what do you do when someone does take anothers life? Its a impossible debacle because an eye for a eye might turn us into a karmic turn of events also sending our sole into eternal burning in hell. But its clear someone must be punished that does this and life in prison seems like a no brainer for someone killing someone. However in the end it costs everyone to house criminals and it again costs us all pain and suffering. To boot the impact to the families of a victim is a impossible loss and wound that can never heal.
