Chinese activist Chen Guangcheng made a newsworthy phone call Thursday, reaching out not just to Americans, but calling right to a Congressional subcommittee hearing that was underway. One of the members of the committee, Rep. Chris Smith, talked to Erin Burnett about the call, and the human rights questions left unresolved in China.
None of the story about the "blind dissident" from China makes sense. Howe did a blind man climb a wall to escape from house arrest? How did he manage to get a call on a cell phone directly into the U.S. Capitol? Really? I don't know who is responsible for this entire incident - the Chinese or the Americans, but I think it's a set up.
