SWAC's first white head football coach comes OutFront

Alcorn State University, a historically black college announced this week that it hired the Southwestern Athletic Conference's first non-black head football coach. Jay Hopson, is the former defense coordinator for Memphis state.

At a news conference on the Alcorn campus, Hopson said his race is not an issue.

“I don’t see it as black or white, we’re purple and gold," said Hopson.

Ranting lawmaker explains his outburst: "yeah, there was a problem"

The video of an Illinois law-maker's meltdown has gone viral. State Rep. Mike Bost explodes in a memorable tirade about pensions on the state house floor. The viral video shows Bost screaming, cursing and throwing papers in the air.

The Republican state law-maker unleashed a barrage of attacks against the Democrats for not being allowed enough time to read the proposed pension reform bill.

"Total power in one person's hand, not the American way," said Rep. Bost.
