New York is one step closer towards legalizing marijuana?

17 states & Washington D.C. allow use of medical marijuana. New York governor Andrew Cuomo wants to decriminalize marijuana.
He would lower the penalty for those caught with a small amount of marijuana, 25 grams to a violation instead of a misdemeanor. FULL POST

Obama's secret war: Drone and cyber warfare

The biggest kill since Osama bin Laden, ABC news reports that Pakistan officials say al Qaeda's number 2 was killed by an American drone.
As many as 17 other suspected militants also were killed.  It was the third drone attack in three days and the seventh in less than two weeks.

There have been 300 airstrikes in Pakistan alone since 2004, all but 45 under president Obama, not George W. Bush according to longwarjournal.com.

New York Times correspondent David Sanger has written a book about President Obama's strategy called "Confront and Conceal: Obama's secret wars and surprising use of American Power." CNN's Erin Burnett asked Sanger about America's use of drones and the potential backlash. FULL POST

Mayor Bloomberg backs plan to reduce pot arrests

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo proposes a change to a New York State law that would reduce the number of people who are arrested for marijuana possession as a result of the "Stop-and-Frisk" police tactic. Both Mayor Michael A. Bloomberg and New York's police commissioner, Ray Kelly support the plan.
