County official resigns with 'golden parachute' amid criticism over handling sexual assault investigation

A top official in Orange County, California was forced to resign amid criticism about how he handled allegations that an employee sexually assaulted other employees.

Well, in return for exiting his post as chief executive of the county, Tom Mauk is getting a golden parachute, a severance package of $270 thousand dollars.
