The shooter from the Sikh temple rampage left six people killed and four wounded, including a police officer. Another officer shot and killed the attacker. According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives the 9 mm semiautomatic handgun used by the suspect was legally purchased.
The nephew of the slain president of the Sikh temple described suspect Wade Michael Page, 40, as having a 9/11 tattoo on his arm. Page was an army veteran, serving from 1992-1998, until he was honorably discharged. According to a Pentagon official, Page had “patterns of misconduct.”
Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards said the suspect was involved in white supremacist movement.
Page was in a far right punk band called “End Apathy.” He had a criminal record, with convictions of DUI and criminal mischief from the 1990s. The FBI says no motive for the attack has yet been established.
