The Daily Beast reported Wednesday that the Obama administration knew that al Qaeda linked operatives were behind the attack in Libya. The report continued to say the administration had the information within 24 hours of the brutal attack in which 4 Americans were killed, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
If the U.S. knew within 24 hours that al Qaeda affiliates were to blame, then why are we just hearing about it, two weeks after the attacks? It has been 15 days since the Libyan consulate attack and all we have are conflicting reports.
The president of Libya, Mohammed Magaried has come out and blamed al Qaeda, while President Obama has been reluctant to call the attack a "terrorist attack."
The question that remains is should the U.S. have known the attack against the Libya consulate was coming?
