A rescue to free an American doctor who was kidnapped by the Taliban in Afghanistan cost the life of a Navy SEAL. Petty Officer 1st Class Nicolas Cheque was killed Saturday during a raid to free Dr. Dilip Joseph, who was kidnapped by Taliban insurgents last Wednesday.
Cheque was a member of SEAL Team Six, the same elite unit that took part in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

Gross: U.S. needs $16T deficit plan
Bill Gross, PIMCO founder - the world's biggest bond fund, says the U.S. needs to cut spending or raise taxes by 11% of GDP over the next five to ten years.
According to Gross, that's $1.6 trillion a year more than Obama proposes and $1.38 trillion more a year than Boehner has offered.
