Notre Dame's Manti Te'o victim or participant of elaborate hoax?

Notre Dame's Star Linebacker claims he's the victim of a bizarre hoax. Manti Te'o says he was conned by a woman into an internet relationship.
The university held a late press conference on the case.

CNN's Ted Rowlands is following the story.

This whole thing reads like Brian's "Killer the Dog" Story from Half Baked... "Weird" or "bizarre" would be understatements. Heck, I've been combing thru my Facebook friend list just to make sure I know everyone on there.

However, let's be honest: this is NOT the most horrendous lie ever told by a college football program, even within the last year. It's incredibly embarrassing for whoever got duped in the whole process.
