Notre Dame star Manti Te'o opened up to Katie Couric about the hoax involving a fake girlfriend who he says fooled him, his family and the entire country, saying he was devoted to what he thought was his girlfriend.
"I wasn't as forthcoming about it, I didn't lie, I was never asked did you see her in person, I was committed to this person, and all of a sudden she died, it scared me, to avoid any further conversation, I wasn't as forthcoming as I should have been.
OutFront tonight: Brian Polian, Head Coach for the University of Nevada's football team. He's also a former Assistant coach for the University of Notre Dame and has known Te'o and his family since 2008 when he recruited Te'o to play for Notre Dame.
Erin Burnett also spoke to HLN's Dr. Drew Pinsky about what motivates a hoaxter.
