Obama signs order enacting $85 billion in spending cuts

The sequester hatchet is about to fall. Or is it? For weeks, President Obama has been warning that we will face financial doom when these $85 billion dollars in cuts take effect in less than five hours from now.

"These cuts not smart, they are not fair, they will hurt our economy, they will add hundreds of thousands of Americans to the unemployment roles. This is not an abstraction." Obama added, "People will lose their jobs."

But as the clock ticked closer to dooms day the President started to change his tune.

"This is not a cliff but it is a tumble downward," Obama said.

French Magazine Paints White Model Black: Artistic expression or racially insensitive?

This photo spread in a French fashion magazine has touched off a racially charged firestorm. That's because the model who is depicted as "African queen" is actually white.

Today the magazine apologized for using a white model.  The photographer also reportedly apologized.

But is that enough?

U.S. considers horse slaughtering plant in New Mexico

Where's the beef? It's a question many Americans may soon be asking if the U.S. department of agriculture approves a horse slaughtering plant in New Mexico.

Concern over horse meat-tainted food been growing.  In the past two months, Taco Bell, Burger King, and Ikea chains in Europe have all had to pull meat from the market after discovering it contained horse DNA.

The USDA says: "the United States neither slaughters horses nor imports horse meat from other countries." But the question tonight is could horse meat make it into America's food supply?
