Obama appoints woman to lead Secret Service

President Obama announced that he will appoint a new director of the Secret Service. Her name is Julia Pierson.

For the first time, the person in charge of the President's security is going to be a woman. The President of course has been under fire this year for not including more women in his administration.

President Obama intends to appoint Julia Pierson as the first female director of the Secret Service, the White House announced Tuesday.

CNN's Tom Foreman is OutFront with the story.
