Sarah Palin says "furlough consultants" but pays them big money

Sarah Palin released a 2 minute 17 second ad this week. She prominently featured a line you may remember from her big speech at CPAC last month.

"Now is the time to furlough the consultants, and tune out the pollsters, send the focus groups home and toss the political scripts," Palin said.

Furlough the consultants! The same consultants she's been paying a whole lot of money.

CNN Contributor John Avlon did a little digging and found that Palin's political action committee - Sarah pac spent $5.1 million dollars in the last election cycle - more than $4.8 million of it went to consultants.

Outfront tonight: CNN contributor Reihan Salam and Alice Stewart, former Communications Advisor to Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann and Mike Huckabee.
