Prisoners had knives and fished for drugs: Ex-inmate speaks out about life inside the "worst jail in America"

It's been described as the worst jail in America, and the images from inside this New Orleans detention center show why. Inmates out of control, waving around a gun in their cell, doing drugs and drinking booze.

One of them even escaped to roam free on Bourbon Street. The video was shot by an inmate on his cell phone in 2009 and is now a key piece of evidence in a lawsuit against the city and the sheriff in charge.

Outfront tonight: Jaime Hernandez, a former inmate who spent 13 months behind bars in the Orleans Parish facility.
