Massive wildfires threaten California homes

Nearly uncontrollable wildfires are burning across 18,000 acres of land in the Los Angeles area.

Part of the Pacific Coast Highway, north of Malibu is closed and there are new evacuation orders tonight as the winds shift. Some 4,000 homes and a few hundred businesses in Ventura County are being threatened by flames.

The fire started inland early Thursday morning. In about a day, it traveled nine miles to the coast.
