Paula Deen's N-word controversy: Isolated incident or part of a bigger problem?

The celebrity chef - famous for her southern cooking is in hot water after admitting to using racial slurs in a court deposition last month.

Deen is currently being sued by the former general manager of her Savannah, Georgia restaurant.

According to the lawsuit Lisa Jackson claims Deen not only used the N-word on several occasions but also wanted to have a "true Southern wedding" with an all-black waitstaff at her brother's 2007 ceremony.

This all has one of Deen's biggest backers starting to distance itself from chef.

In a statement the Food Network, which airs three of Deen's shows says it:

"does not tolerate any form of discrimination and is a strong proponent of diversity and inclusion. We will continue to monitor the situation."

Should the network cut ties with Paula Deen?

OutFront tonight: Radio show host and comedian Stephanie Miller, Comedian Dean Obeidallah and CNN Contributor Reihan Salam.

Racism by Definition is The Belief that one own persons Race Is Superior to another... Paula Dean Is Racist... Why Is okay That When An African American calls themselves The N-word But Any White Person Even Uses The N-word and They Are Considered Racist... It All Comes Down To The Over Use of Political Correctness.

I find it interesting that the FN has cut ties with Deen and yet just last year they invited rapper Coolio to participate in a celeb cook-off. Have you read the man's lyrics???

They need to leave Paula Dean alone and get a life. The general manager evidently wants a way to retire early and Paula Dean is an easy target. Paula is from the deep south and of an age that heard and or said the "N" word on a regular basis in the 50's and even the 60's.
