Zimmerman's best friend a problem at trial?

George Zimmerman's best friend took the stand today, recalling what Zimmerman told him about the night Trayvon Martin was shot and killed.

Osterman offered Zimmerman a place to hide during the tumultuous weeks that followed the shooting and wrote a book about the whole experience.

Did Osterman did more harm to Zimmerman's defense today than good?
