Eyewitness to Southwest plane crash: We saw a shower of sparks
At New York's LaGuardia Airport, Southwest flight 345 from Nashville was forced to make a faulty landing after the plane had problems with its front landing gear.
Passengers evacuated the plane used emergency chutes shortly after the plane landed around 5:45 p.m. E.T.
According to New York City Port Authority, 11 people suffered minor injuries.
Outfront: Wyndham Manning was at the airport and witnessed the landing gear collapse as the plane touched down for landing.

the gear didn't fail to deploy... the pilots failed to FLARE and landed on the nose first. This is not how the aircraft is designed to land. You must transfer the weight of the plane to the main gear upon landing first.
They also failed to follow evacuation procedures and stow the ground spoilers for the passengers evacuating over the wing. The panels were still up causing an obstable course for the passengers to manage.
hope we have a follow up as to why the landing gear failed to deploy.
