Obsession with royal birth in 60 seconds

For weeks, the world has been obsessed with news of the royal baby.

It's an obsession that's not new.

For more than a century, royal fanatics have anxiously awaited the news of a royal birth and here in America, the fascination has reached new highs.

Erin Burnett has a brief look back the media frenzy surrounding the arrival of the latest royal heir.

    Erin Burnett enjoys pointing out the U.K taxpayers cost of renovating the royal couple's apartment in Kensington Palace. Has she highlighted U.S. taxpayers cost of the Obama family vacations to Hawaii? Some of their trips have cost 4 million dollars each. In January 2013 White House reporter Keith Koffler has estimated total trips to Hawaii have cost the public an estimated 20 million dollars.
