Lohan rehab center runs ads during Oprah: Brilliant marketing or inappropriate?

Lindsay Lohan's most recent rehab facility is in the spot-light.

During the actress' tell-all interview with Oprah last night, Cliffside Malibu, where Lohan spent 90-days was not only mentioned multiple times, but their commercial also aired multiple times during the broadcast.

Was Malibu taking advantage of Lohan by advertising during this special? Or was it a brilliant marketing move?

Here's my take. Oprah makes money because Americans love to stare at someone who's making a fool of themselves. Lohan makes money because appearing on a "legitimate" platform like Oprah's gives her one more undeserved opportunity to "rehab" her image. The rehab wins because the poor idiots who watch Oprah don't realize that drug rehabs are a con at best and the success rates are pathetic and Aunt Maude will be on the phone with her sister trying to figure out how to send little Susie off to this pamper-me-sober house of mirrors. The only losers here are the American public, who get to line the pockets of an unrepentant drug addict criminal, a shifty business which exists to peddle false hope, and a multi-billionaire who has created an empire out of exploiting and catering to our unique American brand of ignorance. When are we going to wake up?

Well, this seems smart marketing but it is quite dumb. The reason why its dumb is b/c we are talking about LL here. What is it to brag about??? She will fall again proving the center sucks! Consequently, these people cannot think intelligently.

The only thing that can help poor Lindsey is if she gave her heart to Jesus Christ. Only a true conversion to Jesus will make her change for real. Nothing else!

Risky decision on Cliffside Malibu's part with her track record. If she is in the news again for a setback in her rehab, it doesn't shine a favorable light on their services. I would say it is only inappropriate if they did not get Lindsay Lohan's permission to run the adds. I do think it is a bit tacky for Oprah's Network to run the adds during the airing of the interview.

I worked for a biotech company selling a product to help addicts of both alcohol and opioids and the "Cliffside Mailbu's" of the world are a sham. Most patients relapse multiple times and unless they are in a long term counseling program will continue to abuse their drug of choice. Oprah took advantage of the situation and the CM allegation that they guarantee "cure" is farce. They may guarantee it, but will charge the addict another $50K for treatment, over and over again. It is a disease and until and unless doctors and patients and caregivers treat it that way nothing will change. 90% of people in treatment relapse. Period.
