Best-selling author Elmore Leonard dead at 87

Best-selling author Elmore Leonard died today. Leonard was known for his gritty realism, forceful dialogue, and as the "Dickens of Detroit.'

Elmore Leonard, writer of sharp, colorful crime stories, dead at 87

Twenty-six of his books have been adapted for the screen, including box office hits like "Get Shorty", "Out of Sight" and "3:10 to Yuma".

    Wow, what a cool guy! I've only read Elmore Leonard's "Get Shorty." Yet, I can say I've enjoyed Leonard's characters – Chilly Palmer, Karen Sisco, and Juvenal in different films. RIP.
