The officer should be charged. Part of his job of being a police officer is being able to determine if there is a valid threat. The man was unarmed and NOT committing a crime, despite the perception of the homeowner. We dont kill people in this country because of perception. The woman who called the police, over reacted out of fear. What burglar is going to come knocking at the front door injured? She clearly stated in the call that she couldnt believe she answered the door. I do believe she over reacted and exaggerated to the police because the man was black and it was in the middle of the night. The police officer had a duty to investigate and determine what the real issue was before also over reacting and shooting an innocent man to death.
