Concert promoter AEG Live not liable in Michael Jackson wrongful death suit

A California jury has found concert promoter AEG Live is not liable for Michael Jackson's wrongful death suit.

AEG not liable in Michael Jackson's death, jury finds

Jackson died from an overdose of the anesthetic, propofol in 2009 just days before launching a comeback tour.

His family sued the concert promoter claiming they were responsible for hiring Dr. Conrad Murray, who was treating the singer for insomnia at the time of his death. Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in a separate trial.

Prosecutors clear one biker in attack on SUV

Prosecutors dropped charges Wednesday against one of the two men arrested in connection with an attack on a man and his family in an SUV on Sunday.

The harrowing confrontation, which was caught on tape has raised serious questions about who is to blame. Police say the SUV driver was cornered and beaten after being chased by a gang of motorcyclists.

Official: Biker may have been trying to help the driver

But the bikers say they were only trying to catch the driver after he drove over several of their friends, critically injuring one of them.

No progress after White House meeting on government shutdown

After weeks of talking past each other, congressional leaders and President Barack Obama talked to each other Wednesday evening - only to emerge evidently no closer to a deal to halt the government shutdown.
