Sting Operation reveals D.C.'s Renegade Tweeter

We are learning new details about the White House staffer who was busted for tweeting insider information and slinging vicious insults at his colleagues.

It turns out some of President Obama's top advisers set up a sting operation to catch the rogue tweeter.

Jofi Joseph was a staffer with the National Security Council when he was busted.

His tweets, which went on for two years, ranged from political attacks like:

"Come on Republicans. Don't disappoint me. This Hillary "concussion" is awfully convenient, eh, with Benghazi testimony next week, no?"

To just plain mean:

"Was Huma Abedin wearing beer goggles the night she met Anthony Weiner?"

David Nakamura is a reporter with the Washington Post. He broke the story today.

White House: Durbin "I cannot even stand to look at you" quote a "misunderstanding"

The White House said Thursday that Sen. Dick Durbin's account of what a top House Republican leader told President Obama, "I cannot even stand to look at you..." during negotiations over the government shutdown - was inaccurate.

They said it never happened.

Durbin didn't back down. And today the White House backtracked, playing it off as a bad game of "telephone".

"The quote attributed to the lawmaker was not accurate, there was a miscommunication in the readout of that meeting between the white house and Senate Democrats," said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney.

Sources tell CNN that Durbin got the quote from a top-level source in the room – White House Deputy Chief of Staff Rob Nabors.

So, who is telling the truth?

OutFront: Democratic Strategist Mark Hannah and former spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner, Terry Holt
