Embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford: "I'm not going anywhere"

Until recently, Canada was best known for the good life: things like maple syrup and free health care. That all changed when Toronto's embattled Mayor Rob Ford grabbed international headlines for admitting he smoked crack.

CNN's newest anchor, Bill Weir has more OutFront.

As a Torontonian, I must say... that was a fairly thorough report for an American. I'm impressed.

Thank you for a more balanced report on the Rob Ford issue here in Toronto. - I live just outside the GTA and watched with interest this developing story on Rob Ford which is one of the worst examples of negative campaigning and quite frankly persecution of a potician by a media outlet. – You presented the opposing viewpoint from Mr. Smitherman who was the "chosen" candidate of the provincial Liberal party and this same media outlet. - The people of the GTA (Toronto ) chose Rob Ford because of his platform of fiscal responsibilty or as Rob said -" Stop the gravy train at city hall !". - Rob Ford has done that since he was elected in 2010 but during that same timeframe this media outlet seems to have tried to do everything it can to smear Rob Ford and dig up dirt on him . - The fact that they ( this media outlet ) paid money to get compromising videos of Rob Ford is absolutly disgusting and to then post them to whatever media outlet would like them . - Why would anybody go into the political arena if this type of charcater assassination could be conducted against them by a media outlet ?. - This type of biased reporting is a threat to both of our democratic political processes because negative politics usually does not produce positive results as you well know by your current dilemma in congress. - A lot of good things have happened in Toronto ( GTA) the past 10 years but unfortunately a biased media outlet seeking to destroy their opposing candidate and a mayor who should have shown a lot more maturity in his personal /life choices - the good news did not get told ! - Toronto - the fourth largest city in North Amercia has a booming economy as anyone can clearly see ! - It is not the crack-smoking capital as everyone in the media has been reporting. - Thanks again for a balanced viewpoint on this story perhaps that is why CNN is one of my " favourite" news media outlets .
