International organizations are racing against time to deliver emergency aid to the survivors of Super Typhoon Haiyan.
The U.S. has 250 troops on the ground, delivered 107,000 pounds of supplies and is moving several navy ships to the region to help with the rescue.

In a sense, it was easier with Hurricane Sandy because we could bypass the corporate non-profits like the Red Cross and their six-figure salaries, and just send funds to the pastor at the local church in Far Rockaway, NY, knowing it'd go to the folks who'd need it most...
So the heart of the question is: how do we help?
Or is it the case that, in spite of our best efforts, we can't even get supplies to the local airport... do we just sit back on our comfortable couches and observe our neighbors' misery?
