Murder, self defense, or accidental shooting? Looking into Michigan's laws

A young woman shows up on a man's front porch late at night seeking help following a car accident. His version of the story? He thinks she's trying to break in, and ends up accidentally shooting her.

Under Michigan law, there is no duty to retreat when you are in your own home, but a person must show they "honestly and reasonably" believed there was imminent danger of losing their life or suffering great bodily harm to claim self-defense.

So do the charges add up? Outfront tonight are CNN Legal Analysts and criminal defense attorneys Sunny Hostin and Danny Cevallos.

regarding Thu night show....Toronto is not the 4th largest city in the US. and there is no Premier of Ottawa. Ottawa is a city and the capital of Canada. there is however a Premier of Ontario. Horrible segment and outrageous mistakes from such a "smart show"

This is so ridiculous that every time a white person defends themselves against a black person everyone always claims race was a huge factor. Soon anyone who might be considered "white" will be afraid to protect themselves, and possibly be hurt or even killed because they are worried of being called racist.
