"The worst thing about all of this is that Jahi told my sister, 'I don't want to get this surgery, something bad is going to happen. I'm not going to wake up,' " Jahi's uncle Omari Sealey told CNN Monday in a phone interview.
It was supposed to be a routine tonsillectomy. Now a 13 year-old girl is brain dead in a Oakland hospital.
Jahi McMath had her tonsils removed on December 9th, less than 24-hours later, she experienced serious complications that led to cardiac arrest.
She is currently being kept alive by a ventilator and her family is fighting to keep her on life support.
CNN's Stephanie Elam has the story OutFront.
