Diplomatic incident puts spotlight on treatment of domestic workers

New details are emerging about the housekeeper at the center of the arrest of an Indian diplomat.

The housekeeper's lawyer tells CNN the diplomat paid her just $3 per day and that she was constantly overworked and exhausted. Shockingly, this is a serious problem in this country.

As CNN has reported in the past, the U.S. State Department has been taking steps to more aggressively police the practice of foreign diplomats essentially treating their employees like indentured servants on American soil.
