Gary Lee Bullock, the suspected killer of a beloved Catholic priest was in custody just hours before the murder, but police let him go.
Bullock was arrested on New Year's Eve for public intoxication and held for eight hours before being released.
On Thursday, he was charged with murdering Pastor Eric Freed, who was found beaten to death in the rectory of St. Bernard Church on New Year's day.
Police are calling it a crime of opportunity, but could it have been prevented?
