Finding Space Shuttle Challenger photos was 'extraordinary'
An amazing discovery.
Michael Hindes was at his grandparents house in Massachusetts. His grandmother had recently passed and he was looking for photos of her.
That's when he found a series of pictures of the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger disaster at the bottom of a box.
He posted the images on social media website, Reddit and they went viral.

Hindes was in 4th grade when the disaster shook the world, but his grandfather was a contractor for NASA at the time.
Nearly 28 years after that memorable day, CNN's Don Lemon asked him about this incredible find.
"It's absolutely extraordinary," said Hindes.
Hindes tells us he's reached out to NASA about the photos but hasn't heard back.
Dear Michael, My name is Marcia Winfrey and the teacher on the challenger was Christa McAuliffe and she was my sister in law. I saw on line where you found some old photos of the challenger that have not bee seen before. I have tried and tried to watch the video but I guess my internet service is poor. I live in a rural area of Alabama and we have poor reception. would it be possible for you to send some copies of the photo to me. I really would love to see them. Christa was married to my brother Steve and I have a lot of the items that were printed and some personal items from Christa and I would greatly appreciate it if I could see those pictures. thank you for your time and attention.
