Witness in Pistorius trial heard "blood-curdling screams"

Claims of blood-curdling screams – and gunshots.

The first day of the murder trial involving Oscar Pistorius, the man known as Blade Runner, featured riveting testimony from neighbors who heard horrible sounds coming from the apartment he shared with his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The trial in South Africa has drawn reporters from around the world. The one-time Olympian making his case that he did not mean to gun down Steenkamp in their bathroom in the middle of the night one year ago.
