Source: Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 soared high briefly, then descended
New details in the investigation of the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370.
The plane soared near its peak altitude after drastically changing course, a Malaysian aviation source said. Also, investigators never got a signal from devices on the plane that should have been triggered if the plane crashed or hit the water.

Wondered for a while if the remarkable first detection of pings by a hand held device that has led to this fruitless search so far might have been a false alarm. There has been little comment on whether it could have been another red herring.
It never crashed, landed or hit the water? Alien abduction!
