The Number: How California Chrome made it to the cusp of the Triple Crown

California Chrome is hoping to become the first horse in 36 years to win the Triple Crown. His last challenge is the Belmont Stakes, which he'll run in on Saturday.

That brings us to the number tonight: 20

Twenty Belmont Stakes winners have had names that start with the letter "C" – the most of any letter in the alphabet – and you better believe there are plenty of gamblers out there hoping it's a sign of good things to come for a horse that has very humble beginnings.

I know HORSE RACING – let's just get that out of the way. California is a good horse in good form. I believe the extra 2 furlongs will be his undoing. Assuming everything goes without a hitch, meaning there is no stumbling at the gate, no jockeys get thrown from his/her mount, etc , I cant see California Chrome holding off a late charge from Wicked Strong who is a relentless closer.
